The Micro-Economic Development group is sending 6 members (Matt Nissley, Heather Ryan, Stacey Clark, Liz Poulin, Nick Martino and Stephanie Schick) to Simwaanda Economic Development Zone in Kalomo District, Southern Province of Zambia to continue the Savings and Credit Association work using the Chalmers’ curriculum as well as portions of the VSLA (Village Savings and Credit Association) curriculum that was initially used last year. The team will establish three additional Savings and Credit Associations. Our team desires to spread the developmental opportunities available to our clients in greater capacity through the creation of three more associations. This project will allow our team to be extensions of Christ’s work on earth, through using our gifts to minister to the economically poor through this developmental savings and credit program.
1 Peter 4:10-11 states that, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.”
In our service and through our project, we hope to glorify God in our hearts, words and actions towards others.
